KUMI Six Does Not Contain Nicotine

KUMI Six Vape (“KUMI Six”) does not contain nicotine. Rather, KUMI Six contains NoNic 6 which is 6-methylnicotine (“6-methyl”) -- a new compound which is not nicotine and is not derived from nicotine or tobacco. The 6-methyl in KUMI Six is marketed as NoNic 6.

Session Law 2024‑31, also known as NC’s PMTA Registry rule, went into effect May 1, 2025, with a 60‑day grace period. That grace period concludes, July 1, 2025

What changes: Retailers and online sellers shipping to NC must now carry only vape products listed in the state registry, which includes disposables, pods, or bottles that have had a PMTA filed, received FDA authorization, or are under court review

Allowed products

PMTA-certified or pending products remain legal. Even those under appeal or with a stay can still be sold

Zero-nicotine e-liquids, nicotine analogs, separate nicotine shots (like “nic tubes”), and hardware (devices that don’t contain nicotine) are unaffected
The North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) has confirmed that products that do not contain Nicotine are not subject to the Session Law 2024-31. Confirmation is available of this by email upon request.
